Adult Beginner Pointe
Recommended: Adult ballet dancers with prior ballet experience who have been assessed as ready to begin pointe work.
Start pointe work safely and confidently. The Adult Beginner Pointe class focuses on the fundamentals of pointe technique, building strength, control, stability, and proper technique required for pointe.
Each class begins with body conditioning and alignment exercises, followed by a short ballet class in flat shoes to prepare the body for pointe work. Students will then progress to basic pointe exercises at the barre, focusing on developing ankle and foot strength, proper placement, and coordination, before moving to more advanced movements.
Readiness for pointe work is carefully assessed by our instructors based on muscle strength, posture, and alignment. This ensures a safe and progressive transition to dancing en pointe, minimizing risk of injury while building strong, confident technique.
With professional guidance and a structured curriculum, you’ll gain the foundation needed for beautiful and secure pointe work.
